When you lead from the trenches you know first-hand what it takes to get the job done, how to relate to your people, and lead with a greater sense of purpose. When you are engaged as a leader and have the scars to prove it you will have the respect of your people. Don’t be afraid to lead in the trenches. You will be a better leader for it.
